NACD Florida Elects Senator George LeMieux to Board of Directors

Fort Lauderdale, Florida — [February 15] NACD Florida is proud to announce the election of Senator George LeMieux to the Board of Directors.
NACD Florida Chairman, Gerry Czarnecki said, “Senator LeMieux will bring a wealth of governance experience and subject matter expertise to the Board and to the Chapter membership.” Carolyn Chin, the President of NACD Florida added, “We look forward to the future contributions of this outstanding leader to NACD as we introduce new programs and continue to support and be the ‘voice’ of the director.”
Senator George LeMieux is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Gunster, the law firm for business. He focuses his practice on complex business litigation and corporate strategic counseling, resolving business disputes and advising CEOs and prominent individuals on business, law and politics from a state and national perspective.
George LeMieux served as Florida’s 34th United States Senator from 2009-10. In the United States Senate, he served on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, the Armed Services Committee, and the Special Committee on Aging. He successfully passed legislation on health care fraud, export promotion, rating agency reform, small business promotion, and a treaty resolution on tactical nuclear weapons. He previously served as Florida’s Deputy Attorney General overseeing more than 400 attorneys and appearing before appellate courts on behalf of the State of Florida, including the United States Supreme Court. Senator LeMieux also served as the Governor’s Chief of Staff overseeing all state agencies and operations.
Senator LeMieux’s civic & community service includes serving as Chairman, Center for a Competitive Florida, Florida Tax Watch, Member, Florida Council of 100, Member, Broward Workshop, Member, Young President’s Organization, Palm Beach Chapter, and former Board Member, Goodwill of Broward County.
