Board Impact on Culture
What impact has culture played in the recent headlines about companies such as Uber and Wells Fargo? What is the board's role in shaping culture and how can it have an impact? Does culture have concrete value for an organization? The recently released NACD Blue Ribbon Commission Report, Culture as a Corporate Asset focuses on the importance of directors playing a greater role in the discussion of organization culture. In the corporate context, culture has been described as "the sum of shared assumptions, values and beliefs that create the unique character of an organization."
