NACD Florida Announces Frank Scruggs as New Board Member
MIAMI, FL (August 25, 2017) - NACD Florida announced that Frank Scruggs, partner in the law firm of Berger Singerman LLP, has become a member of the chapter's board of directors.
"The Florida Chapter of NACD has created a vibrant community of Florida-based directors, and I am proud to be a part of the chapter's leadership as it launches its 2017 to 2018 program year", said Scruggs. "I look forward to helping the chapter continue its trajectory of success and director engagement throughout the state."
In addition to serving on the board of the NACD Florida Chapter, Scruggs is a director of SunTrust Banks Inc., one of the largest financial services companies in the United States, and Guidewell Mutual Holding Corporation, including its subsidiary Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, or "Florida Blue."
"With his statewide contacts and deep expertise, Frank will be a tremendous addition to the chapter's board as we continue to provide world-class programming for Florida-area directors," said Sherrill Hudson, NACD Florida chairman.
Scruggs previously served on the board of Office Depot, Inc., for seven years and on the Board of Regents of the State University System of Florida for six years. He was Florida's Secretary of Labor and Employment Security and Assistant General Counsel to the governor. Scruggs received his JD from Harvard Law School, MPA from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and AB summa cum laude in Government from Cornell University.
His extensive history of service as an official of Florida's state government and as a corporate director will support the NACD Florida Chapter's mission to provide the state's directors with world-class programs, featuring best-in-class corporate governance practices.
