Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer
Ken Athanasiou is Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer at AutoNation, Inc. and serves on the Board of Directors for the Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center. With extensive experience in information security and risk management, Ken's career includes senior positions with global companies in the retail and financial service sectors as well as thirteen years of service as an officer in the United States Air Force.
Just prior to joining AutoNation, he was the Global Information Security Director & Chief Information Security Officer for American Eagle Outfitters. Ken holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master's degree in Computer Resources Management and is a Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP).
Juan Gomez-Sanchez currently serves as Chief Security Officer at Lennar Corporation. As the Chief Security Officer, Juan's responsibilities encompass all physical and information security initiatives in support of 7 line of business, close to 9,000 associates and 1,000 locations operating in 17 U.S. states and 44 markets.
With over 20 years of experience, Juan has held leadership positions building and implementing enterprise security programs at Delta Airlines, CheckFree Corporation (now Fiserv) and Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (PCI Level 1 Merchant). As a consultant, Juan worked for Cybertrust (now Verizon Business Security Solutions), Optima Consulting, and Worldwide Technology.
Renee Guttmann-Stark is an accomplished global information security and privacy executive. She serves on the Board of Directors for Hillside Inc., a nonprofit in Atlanta, Georgia, that provides specialized, cutting-edge mental health care and education to children and their families. Ms. Guttmann-Stark provides guidance on healthcare and PCI compliance, as well as advice on technology investments for Hillside Inc. She has extensive information security and privacy expertise spanning her 25-year career. Ms. Guttmann-Stark was the first CISO at Royal Caribbean, Coca-Cola, and Time Warner. As a principal consultant for Optiv Inc. from 2014 to 2016, she advised CISOs, CEOs, and board members on the importance of the NACD Director’s Handbook on Cyber-Risk Oversight. Ms. Guttmann-Stark has received several industry awards for her knowledge, vision, leadership, and support for women in cybersecurity.
MODERATOR: Nora M. Denzel is a public board director of AMD, a global semi-conductor company, Ericcson, a global telecommunications equipment company and Talend, a global big data, cloud software company. Prior public board service includes Redbox (also interim CEO), Overland Storage and Saba Software. She serves on the advisory board for BBVA, a global Spanish based bank, and the board of the Northern California chapter of the NACD.
Prior to full time board work, she worked for over 25 years in the Silicon Valley. She retired as the Senior Vice President of Big Data at Intuit (the makers of TurboTax and Quicken). She has also held executive level technical positions at HP Enterprise and IBM.
